Beton Bauen were originally brought in to advise the client on the most appropriate method of installing a suitable structural waterproofing system to a secant piled basement, for their client – Sainsburys.

Our recommendations included applying a dry sprayed concrete substrate suitable to receive the bentonite sheet membrane system.

Once specifications were agreed Beton Bauen were instructed by Bowmer & Kirkland to carry out the dry spray application and to install the bentonite sheet membrane incorporating water bar to meet manufacturers requirements.

The dry spray 'shotcrete application' allowed for the fast track application of both the concrete and waterproofing, to avoid any potential delays to the programme.
