United Bristol Healthcare Trust has announced plans for the £88m redevelopment of the Bristol Royal Infirmary, which will involve replacing outdated buildings and setting up a new 220-bed unit.
The Bristol Royal Infirmary, also known as the BRI, is a large teaching hospital situated in the centre of Bristol, England. It has links with the medical faculty of the nearby University of Bristol, and the Faculty of Health and Social Care at the University of the West of England, also in Bristol.
The BRI is one of Eight hospitals operated by the United Bristol Healthcare NHS Trust (UBHT), Bristol's largest NHS trust.
Work Procedure
Beton Bauen were commissioned undertake concrete survey works to estimate required remedial works to the existing boiler house.
The planned refurbishment of the boiler house due to commence in July 08 will provide the new IT facility for UBHT.
The concrete frame will be restored using a combination of repair methods, this will include sprayed concrete, cast repairs and high build mortars. The final decorative finish will involve the application of coloured thin coat renders to transform the building to include its original features.
