A SUPER CELEBRATION AND FUNDRAISER FOR MND ASSOCIATION
Beton Bauen celebrated 20 Years in specialist construction with a double-header party (held at Caerphilly RFC), featuring entertainment from magician Jasper Blakeley (AKA Kockov) and caricaturist 'Picasso' Griffiths.
A big thank you to everyone who attended a fantastic celebration at Caerphilly RFC on Saturday 19th September, to mark Beton Bauen's 20-Years in business.
Things kicked off at 3pm, with families welcomed to enjoy a host of 'giant' games and fun activities and delicious food in the form of a free range wild boar hog roast. Outside activities were hampered a little by the weather and the celebrations spilled into a second room earlier than expected, but overall this didn't spoil the celebrations. The afternoon (and early evening) fun was heightened by the fine hand of caricaturist Picasso Griffiths. Ever the entertainer, 'Picasso' put some great images down on paper for the guests to take home.
HOSTED BY JASPER BLAKELEY AKA 'KOCKOV'
For those aged 16+, the evening event compromised of more drinks, more food, and more entertainment. Whilst Picasso Griffiths continued to sketch his humourous interpretations of the fantastically good-looking guests, the evening entertainer subtly began to work his way round the tables with his unique delivery of magic, with a comedic twist! Our host, compère, and live entertainment for the evening was provided by award-winning magician, comedian and cabaret artiste, Jasper Blakeley.
Jasper Blakeley has delivered magic and comedy to audiences for over 20-years, headlining hundreds of events throughout UK. He has performed at The Glee Comedy Clubs, in the Comedy Tent at both V Festivals, and has made multiple television appearances, including Britain's Got Talent and Brian Conoly's BBC TV Show, Let Me Entertain You. An award-winning magician and one of the UK's most versatile and exciting magical performers,
Jasper is perhaps best-known for his award-winning alter ego, 'Kockov'. With his heavily-accented, tight leather-trousered, mullet-hairdooed, magnificent magic, Vladimir Dimitri Kockov went down a storm on the night. Unfortunately, we're unable to publish any videos from the performance, due to the adult humour! You can see Jasper for yourself though, as he regularly performs as the owner of The World's Smallest Magic Theatre, 'The Small Space' in Barry, South Wales.

CONTINUING TO RAISE FUNDS IN 2026...
Beton Bauen announced back in June that MND Association had been chosen as our official Charity of the Year for 2026. The MND Association has given invaluable support to a fellow "concrete man," Garry Batte, who is currently enduring the effects of the disease. Gary is a respected member of our industry community and we were delighted that he could join us in the afternoon.
Thanks to a successful auction, the event raised a total of £3,030 for MND Association. Beton Bauen donated two lots of 10 tickets for any Cardiff Rugby URC home fixture plus a corporate hospitality package for the Gareth Edwards Suite at Cardiff Rugby for 4 persons, where guests enjoy food, drink and entertainment before taking premium seating in the Peter Thomas Stand (sponsored by Beton Bauen). Finally, Beton Bauen donated two Category A tickets to see Wales vs England, at The Principality Stadium in Cardiff for their Guinness Six Nations Championship tie on 6th March 2027. We also 'threw in' with this lot the option of a signed caricature, or a signed photo of former England captains Will Carling or Martin Johnson respectively... each worth over £1,000!
A special mention to Paul Rigby, Gary Money, John Lewis (twice!), and Edward Bellanti, who were successful with their bids on the night. Many, many thanks also to all those to all those who have donated toward such a worthy cause prior, during, and post event.
