Beton Bauen 5 Reinvent Themselves (Again) as The BB62's, Rejecting Critics Claims They Are Out of Touch

The artist formerly known as Beton Bauen Crew, Beton Bauen Mariachi 5, and then The Beton Bauen 5 release an punk like version of a classic Christmas song, but does this latest incarnation carry any weight in today's music industry?

Merry Christmas to Everyone...

Big Thanks to all those involved with a successful 2025 for Beton Bauen - that's staff, clients, contractors, and suppliers. We've completed some huge contracts for familiar clients and developed new relationships that should secure a successful future. None of our success would have been possible without input from every one of you.

To celebrate we've put another music video together. As with previous releases, this video and digital download is not available at any good retailers, and is set to be banned from every reputable media source, being such an obvious crime against humanity.

We Will Never Be Out of Fashion!

Following previews of Winter Wonderland to a closed audience of music experts (plus a super fan Myla Dacey), the music press seemed united that this latest version of the Beton Bauen Crew would fare no better than any previous attempt to become famous.

Music mogul Simone Kowell said: "These guys certainly carry some weight in the industry... too much weight! They're degrading quicker than they can concrete repair and are so out of touch with todays music industry. They'll never be out of fashion because they've never been in fashion."

In fairness the band are on strict diets of epoxy resin, injected periodically, as part of a controlled project plan in an aim to become structurally waterproof and improve their lifespan. This move to a sustainable future fits in perfectly with their original philosophy, when the band were once all successful concrete repair technicians.

The artist formerly known as Beton Bauen Crew, later as Beton Bauen Mariachi 5, and then simply The Beton Bauen 5 has re-invented themselves again, as punk-rock quintet The BB62s. In addition to the Christmas single Winter Wonderland, 2026 will see the launch of a new album entitled Songs from the Big Concrete Chair, and to promote the album the band are taking to the road again.

Ten consecutive nights in cult club HeBGB's will see the BB62s play on the same bill as legendary artists Talking Beds, Generation 'Exit Quickly', Ramones Cafe (formerly of Salisbury Road), plus German solo newcomer, Schmidt Hammer.

Songs from the Big Concrete Chair

The BB62's album Songs from the Big Concrete Chair will never be released in the UK.

However, the group has found amazing success on the island of Staffa in Argyll & Bute, Scotland, where human inhabitants can't get there hands on enough copies of the band's back catalogue.

A single copy, limited edition is due for release on Staffa only, and in Minidisc format, by January 2032.

Things haven't always been plain sailing. The renamed Beton Bauen 5 has shared massive disappointment in their bid for a Christmas #1. With the utter failure of their 2022 adaption of Ice Ice Baby, an even worse (non) chart position was achieved in 2023, when they introduced themselves as Mexican copycat boyband, Beton Bauen Mariachi 5. A remix of José Feliciano’s Feliz Navidad, coupled with some questionable dance moves couldn’t turn things round for the quintet.

Rather than improved listening numbers, statistics suggest that a record number of the UK public were offering to pay for the digital download to be removed from all unreputable sources. 2024 went no better with a mass audience (or any audience in fact), and ‘Macareindeer’ is generally considered one of the worst Christmas songs ever.

The release of ‘Winter Wonderland’ will feature a new member; Ian 'Cab' Callaway replaces Jake 'The Man' Mayne, who has decided to concentrate on a more profitable career as a Site Supervisor. The return of founding member Arthur Dacey should sets hearts stopping again, mainly with a middle to older aged audience.

As usual this video was filmed exclusively using JibJab, a PC based computer, with an exotic location always unlikely on this kind of budget. No penguins were harmed during the making of this video. Good luck to the BB62s for this festive effort and the new album, We hope neither are ever available, anywhere, ever. #ThisBandAreRubbish.
