This presentation provides a practical overview of Professional Indemnity insurance (PII) within the concrete sector, focusing on how PII links with defects clauses and products liability. We will explore when PI is required for concrete contractors and specialists, and where claims commonly arise, including situations involving design responsibility, specification, and performance obligations.
The session will review two case studies showing how contractual wording drives liability, highlighting common contract pitfalls and issues of vicarious liability. The event will finish with a Q&A and a short discussion on how insurers are adapting to modern methods of construction and changing risk profiles within the concrete industry.
The session will be delivered by Robinson Sargeant insurance brokers.
